What is good for thinning hair in the front for females?

I am very ill and I know that on days when I feel really good, if I can get that to stretch out to weeks or a month, hairgrowth begins again. I have more surgery coming up with lots of pain and healing. What can I do to keep my hair and/or even grow more? Anything? Thanks! What is good for thinning hair in the front for females?
I wish you a speedy recovery.

In your case, I can think of several reasons for you hairloss.

The first is emotional stress. Given your illness and upcoming surgery, this is understandable.

The second is a bit more complicated. So, a brief biology/physiology lesson-- your body takes in a certain amount of nutrients in your diet. Specifically, IRON. Your body does two things with dietary iron. It makes blood (red blood cells) and it makes hair and nail tissue. Given the choice your body will use all available iron to make blood cells first; obviously blood is more important than hair. You could not be anemic, but still have a low iron, because your body is using all available iron to make blood. Your body does not then have enough iron to make hair and nails.

You say that when you are feeling better, your hair starts to re-grow. I am assuming that when you are feeling better, you are eating more and therefore getting more iron in your diet. With more available iron in your body, it has more to make blood AND hair.

The next time you have blood drawn, ask your doctor for a test called SERUM FERRITIN. Ferritin levels are much better at determining low iron levels in your system. The only bad thing about a ferritin test. The normal range is like 5-240. A low ferritin of, say, 6 means that you are still ';normal'; but in your case normal is still too low. A low ferritin means that you have enough iron to make blood, but not hair. You need a ferritin level well into the hundreds to make both blood AND hair.

Good luck with all !!What is good for thinning hair in the front for females?
