What can you do about severely thinning hair?

I'm very concerned about my mother, whose hair is getting very very thin. She is only 33, and there are visible bald spots already. What are some good products that she could try? If you are going to suggest rogain, please dont. What can you do about severely thinning hair?
Hair thinning can be caused by a number of factors, such as hormonal changes, poor diet, or by scalp problems. It can also be caused by an overuse of styling products that cause the hair to break sooner than it should. As your body can only replace hair at a certain rate, it may not be able to grow new hair fast enough to replace the hair that is breaking.

Changing your diet to increase the amount of protein, vitamins B12 and B6, and zinc can help combat hair thinning as all of these vitamins (and others) help to promote healthy, strong hair growth and improve circulation to the scalp. What can you do about severely thinning hair?
There are many reasons for hair loss, and there are a lot of treatments that claim success but don't work.

To find a treatment that works, you need to know what caused it.

Since your mother is young, and a woman, it is likely due to a genetic predisposition, hormonal imbalance or stress.

When my mom lost a lot of weight, she lost hair too.

So if you are very concerned, have your mom see a doctor to evaluate what the cause could be.
hmmm..

Well maybe your mother's hair isn't that strong ,,

You should try a shampoo with lots of volume.

and buy a conditioner along with it, it could be pricey though.

I use biolage, tell your mom that when after she shampoos and rinses, smudge lots of the conditioner on your hair and put on a shower cap and wait for at least 10 minutes.

And about a handful of the conditioner that is.

Does your mother dye her hair a lot? because that might be the reason
i looked up some natural remedies for male pattern baldness (for my boyfriend) and that is obviously different but some herbal supplements might help still.

just look for anything that mentions the retention of estrogen.

additionally you should know that thinning hair is a sign of deteriorating health, bulimia usually causes this and plain old stress can as well.

maybe keep an eye on her other behavior to see if anything seems odd.

i really hope she's okay and some natural teas can help.

never under estimate the power of independent research, and it's good of you to be looking out for your mom.
You might want to check with her doctor because there is a condition called ALOPECIA that can cause thinning hair. There are some treatments for it...if thats what she has a simple biopse of the follicle is what is needed to diagnose Alopcia.

Steroid injections, creams, and shampoos (such as clobetasol or fluocinonide) for the scalp have been used for many years. Other medications include minoxidil, irritants (anthralin or topical coal tar), and topical immunotherapy (cyclosporine), each of which are sometimes used in different combinations.

Maby its the medicine that she's taking. Perhaps she need some Biotin Women's Advanced Hair Vitamins its at the GNC stores. She

needs to take vitamins for hair, skin and nails she also need a really good conditioner and a leave in conditioner. Most of all she must eat right cause its not just what you put on your hair, its what you eat.And last but not least she must get good and adequate rest and stop worrying.
It could be something preventable, like her diet. I'd suggest a doctor before anything else, they may have a solution that doesn't even involve medication or implants..!
Get use to it %26lt;be yourself.
awh man, i was about to say rogain -_-
