What do you use to prevent thinning hair?

My boyfriend's hair is kinda thinning and i love his black hair, so what can he use to prevent losing any more?? hes only 27 but he is a welder and works in a hood and in the heat all day so what do you think he should use???What do you use to prevent thinning hair?
it's a shame, you cant do anything about it... the roots are dying - it just happens... thing is though, no matter what you do it doesnt change it really.... having a hair transplant like Elton John just is'nt reall and we all know it... and it shows vanity... i've a crop circle on the back of my head, it's just a sign of maturity and i am what i am.

PS dont rub your fingers though your BF's hair... it'll fall out even more!!!

oh, and forget getting that convertable as well....What do you use to prevent thinning hair?

Each strand of hair has its own root. Think of it like grass. When you put plastic on grass it stops growing. The hat he wears is stopping the air from getting to the roots. Yes your hair follicle needs the air to keep growing. Also it could be genetic. Does his mothers father have a lot of hair, if not , then he'll probably lose his also.
I use a razor.
DONT USE ROGAINE!!! try another product like Nioxin. Its all natural and if you stop using it (unlike rogaine) it wont make all the new hair fall out
There is a shampoo and conditioner that you can get in high end salons called Nioxin. It is usually sold as a package that comes with a foam like substance that actually helps hair growth continue. It's for early stages of balding. It works really well...I know several people who have used it - men and women. It takes approximately a month to see real results but it will help thinning hair to bulk up. Ask a hair dresser about which kind you should buy. They have kinds for regular hair and treated...etc. Like most kinds of shampoo. Try it out - it's a little pricy but if his hair is short like most guys just a dab will work to wash and it lasts months if you use it well. It's worth it though!
Try Nioxin. You can buy it in beauty supply stores or at a salon. It was made for chemo patients and then went on the market. But it takes a couple of months to notice the effect. but after that it's like wow. It's pretty expensive though. About $40.00 for the large bottle of the scalp therapy. I use it two or three times a week only because of the price and it works.
umm i heard some kind of vegtable helps with hair, u know like carrots for ur eyes and all. its not a myth.
Although there are a number of good hair products - such as Rogaine - which actually slow down the process of hair lose. However, in the long run - no matter what you do - your boyfriend will eventually loose his hair.
Rogaine...before it's all gone
this may seem weird but garlic oil is good,,,

put some on ur hair wait for a half hour or an hour n then wash it

WASH IT GOOD ,,, n don't go out using it coz it reallllllyyyyyy SMELLS!
your wasting money on any product

my personal favorite is a razor

I figgure why fight the innevitable
If he is losing his hair at his age it is genetic and there is nothing you can do to stop it from coming out.
